De acuerdo a la ley, este lunes 30 de septiembre es su último día de mandato oficial, toda vez que mañana martes 1 de octubre, asumirá funciones la presidenta electa, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, como la primera mujer en el cargo, en 200 años de historia en la que se contabilizan 86 hombres.
El cuadro fue pintado por el artista de origen yucateco, Jorge Emilio Espinosa Torre, quien explicó que fue un proceso artísticamente difícil, debido a lo que implica retratar a una persona en el máximo cargo político en el país.
“No solamente es un retrato de la persona es un retrato de la investidura presidencial, y es un retrato de la Presidencia, a través de esa persona. Entonces son tres figuras a la vez, conjugadas en un mismo cuadro”, detalló el autor de la obra.
De acuerdo información de la Oficina de la Presidencia de la República, el pintor recibió un contrato por casi 700 mil pesos, para la creación del retrato, al óleo, que mide 1.35 x 2.25 metros, y que le tomó 1 año concluir.
