El Cabildo aprobó este día la licencia que solicitó el Presidente Municipal, Cruz Pérez Cuellar, para separarse del cargo y en su lugar quedó el alcalde suplente, Héctor Rafael Ortiz Orpinel.
Esto se llevó a cabo durante la Sesión Extraordinaria número 6, en la que Pérez Cuéllar comentó que dejaba su cargo para acudir al evento denominado “Smart City Summit & Expo 2025” a celebrarse en Taipéi, China.
“Desde el momento que recibí la invitación por la Oficina Económica y Cultural de Taipéi, inmediatamente recordé la importancia que tiene Taiwán en Ciudad Juárez y por eso no dudamos en decir que sí”, dijo.
Explicó que es importante mantener una estrecha relación con todos los países que son socios comerciales e industriales de México y en especial con Ciudad Juárez, ya que la maquiladora genera en esta frontera 316 mil empleos, de ellos 40 mil directos son de la industria electrónica de esa ciudad de Asia.
Gracias a la relación laboral con Taiwán, se tiene aquí un promedio de 80 mil plazas laborales directas e indirectas y ahí está la importancia de atender a esta invitación, además de que durante este viaje visitará a las principales empresas que tienen en esta frontera operaciones laborales.
Este viaje tiene como misión atraer más industria y así hacer de Juárez un mayor polo de atracción para las empresas de cualquier parte del mundo.
Al respecto la regidora Martha Patricia Mendoza Rodríguez reconoció el liderazgo de Pérez Cuéllar y le deseó el mejor de los éxitos.
El edil Alejandro Daniel Acosta Aviña dijo que es importante atraer más industria en tecnología de punta, porque así verán a esta frontera como una ciudad donde se podrán traer mejores empleos y con más sueldos.
En tanto que el regidor Alejandro Alberto Jiménez Vargas dijo que le deseaba el mejor de los éxitos, ya que tiene el compromiso de fortalecer la industria y el trabajo para los juarenses.
La regidora María Dolores Adame Alvarado dijo que se esperan cosas buenas a su regreso.
Posterior a ello Ortiz Orpinel tomó protesta como Presidente Municipal, cargo en el que estará hasta el 31 de marzo.
