“Hoy estamos aquí con una misión clara: acelerar la adopción de una economía circular en la que nadie se quede atrás a través de un modelo que rompa con la lógica de usar y desechar, y que nos lleve a aprovechar los recursos de manera inteligente, responsable y solidaria con el planeta”, afirmó el diputado del PVEM, Octavio Borunda, durante su participación en los Diálogos Regionales para la construcción de la Política Nacional de Economía Circular.
Este encuentro, que tuvo como sede las instalaciones de la CMIC, fue organizado por la Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (SEMARNAT) en colaboración con la Secretaría de Economía (SE), la Agencia Francesa de Desarrollo (AFD) y la firma consultora Global Factor. Asistieron representantes de la Cámara Nacional de la Industria de la Construcción, de la Secretaría de Desarrollo Urbano y Ecología del Gobierno del estado, así como personal de Coparmex y Chihuahua Green.
En este escenario sirvió como plataforma para que el legislador Borunda expusiera el compromiso del Congreso de Chihuahua con temas ambientales que, en el pasado, fueron considerados “polémicos” o permanecieron olvidados. El diputado aseguró que desde el Poder Legislativo de Chihuahua se ha trabajado activamente en asuntos como el bienestar animal, la protección ambiental, la gestión de residuos, las áreas naturales protegidas y la propia economía circular.
“Se entiende que no se pueden seguir postergando las decisiones que definen el futuro de nuestra tierra”, subrayó.
Octavio Borunda Quevedo recalcó que, desde la Comisión de Medio Ambiente, Ecología y Desarrollo Sustentable que preside, se ha optado por actuar en lugar de esperar. Para ello, explicó, se han acercado a todos los sectores clave para esta transformación: el sector empresarial, la academia, los tres órdenes de gobierno y la sociedad civil.
“No creemos en leyes hechas desde un escritorio, creemos en leyes construidas con la gente que sabe y con quienes viven todos los días las consecuencias y las oportunidades de las políticas públicas. Esa ha sido nuestra forma de trabajar: abrir las puertas del Congreso, escuchar y construir juntos”, manifestó Borunda.
Durante su intervención, el legislador se comprometió a seguir manteniendo un Congreso abierto que legisle con base en evidencia científica y técnica. Asimismo, abogó por “la despolitización de los temas ambientales, porque no se trata de quién propone, sino de qué tan útil es la propuesta para la gente y para el entorno”.
Reconoció que la transición hacia un modelo circular no será sencilla, pero expresó su convicción de que México cuenta con el talento, los recursos naturales y una sociedad cada vez más consciente para lograrlo.
“Y más porque en Chihuahua somos gente de propuesta, de trabajo y de diálogo. Sigamos sumando esfuerzos entre los tres órdenes de gobierno, la iniciativa privada, la academia, la sociedad civil y las comunidades. Hagamos de la economía circular no solo una política nacional, sino una cultura colectiva”, finalizó el diputado Borunda Quevedo.
