El Municipio de Chihuahua avanza en el fortalecimiento de la seguridad y la atención a emergencias con los trabajos para próximamente conformar al Equipo de Intervención Rápida de Bomberos (RIT, por sus siglas en inglés), un grupo altamente especializado que permitirá realizar rescates más rápidos, seguros y eficientes en situaciones de alto riesgo.
Este nuevo equipo estará integrado inicialmente por 18 bomberos, quienes actualmente reciben capacitación especializada en la Academia del H. Cuerpo de Bomberos, en las instalaciones del Instituto Superior de Seguridad Chihuahua (ISSCUU). La coordinación del RIT estará a cargo del bombero primero Luis Eduardo Vizcarra Verzosa, con 23 años de servicio en la corporación y más de dos décadas de experiencia como rescatista.
El Equipo de Intervención Rápida tendrá capacidad de respuesta en cinco áreas fundamentales: rescate vehicular, rescate en alturas, rescate en estructuras colapsadas, rescate en cuerpos de agua, incluidas aguas rápidas y lagos, así como manejo de materiales peligrosos (Haz Mat). Además, sus integrantes cuentan con preparación en atención prehospitalaria, lo que permite una intervención integral para salvar vidas.
Vizcarra Verzosa explicó que, si bien los bomberos atienden de manera cotidiana incendios y emergencias, el RIT está diseñado para intervenir en escenarios de mayor complejidad, donde se requiere una reacción inmediata y técnicas especializadas, tanto para auxiliar a la ciudadanía como para apoyar a compañeros de la corporación u otras instituciones que pudieran encontrarse en riesgo durante una operación.
El equipo también tendrá la función de rescatar a los propios elementos que participen en labores de emergencia, fortaleciendo la seguridad operativa de bomberos, policías y personal de auxilio, siempre bajo un esquema de capacitación rigurosa y vocación de servicio.
La base de operaciones del RIT será la estación número 7, ubicada sobre la prolongación de la avenida Teófilo Borunda, en la zona de El Reliz. Desde ahí operará con infraestructura especializada, como torre de rescate, casa de humo, áreas de simulación y equipo para entrenamiento, instalaciones fortalecidas gracias al impulso del Gobierno Municipal.
Cabe destacar que los conocimiento y experiencia del coordinador Vizcarra Verzosa comprenden algunas intervenciones como la realizada en el estado de Chiapas, cuando fue azotado por el Huracán Stan en 2005; o comto cuando acudió como parte de la Brigada Chihuahua al edificio “Álvaro Obregón 286”, desplomado durante el terremoto de 2017 en la Ciudad de México, una de las pocas brigadas a las que se les permitió el ingreso por tener la capacidad requerida.
