El secretario de Guerra de Estados Unidos, Pete Hegseth, insistió este viernes en que Washington no ataca a civiles, en referencia a la investigación en curso sobre el bombardeo de una escuela en el sur de Irán que dejó unos 175 fallecidos en el primer día de la guerra.
“En este conflicto entre nosotros e Irán, sólo hay una entidad que nunca ataca a civiles. Literalmente, nunca ataca a civiles. Nosotros no atacamos (civiles). Irán sí”, declaró Hegseth en una rueda de prensa para informar sobre la situación en el decimocuarto día de la operación militar “Furia Épica”.
El secretario aseguró además que el Comando Central de Estados Unidos (Centcom, por sus siglas en inglés) ha designado a un oficial externo para dirigir la investigación sobre el bombardeo.
