El secretario de Economía, Marcelo Ebrard, calificó de “injusta e injustificada” la imposición de aranceles de Estados Unidos al acero, el aluminio y la industria automotriz mexicana, y confió en que antes de concluir 2026 el gobierno estadounidense dé una respuesta favorable a las gestiones de México para mejorar las condiciones comerciales de estos sectores.
El funcionario informó que el gobierno mexicano ha presentado argumentos, evidencias y descripciones detalladas de los procesos de fabricación que se realizan en el país, con el objetivo de demostrar la importancia de reducir los gravámenes y evitar afectaciones a la competitividad de las empresas nacionales.
“Encontramos injustificado e injusto que se haya impuesto ese arancel. Eso no es suficiente. También hemos hecho una descripción del proceso de fabricación en México”, señaló Ebrard, al explicar las acciones emprendidas por la Secretaría de Economía para defender los intereses comerciales del país ante Washington.
