Maru Campos, gobernadora de Chihuahua, formó parte de la inauguración de una nueva planta de Safran en la capital, con lo que suma doce instalaciones en la ciudad, con una inversión de aproximadamente 7 millones de dólares y se prevé generar 229 empleos directos en 18 meses y 64 empleos indirectos en servicios complementarios.
La planta incluye 1,154 paneles solares para reducir 500 toneladas de CO₂ al año. Las operaciones se enfocarán en sistemas de evacuación y componentes de asientos.
La apertura forma parte del plan de expansión del grupo en México. El objetivo es fortalecer su capacidad operativa en el país.
La planta se localiza en el Parque Industrial Supra, dentro del campus de Safran Aerosystems. Ahí se desarrollarán operaciones de las divisiones Evacuation Systems y Seats.
El edificio tiene una superficie de 19,510 m² con áreas de ensamblaje, oficinas y capacitación. También cuenta con un centro de formación y un centro de distribución.
