Al abordar el rubro de salud pública, el alcalde de Ciudad Juárez, Cruz Pérez, reportó durante su Tercer Informe de Gobierno, que el Ayuntamiento atendió a más de 150,000 juarenses con más de 300,000 acciones, a través de los programas Médico a tu Puerta, Cruzadas por la Salud Comunitaria, e internos de los centros comunitarios.
Explicó que con las brigadas del programa Médico a tu Puerta recorrieron las colonias de la ciudad, en donde se atendió a más de 120,000 beneficiarios, entre personas adultas mayores, enfermas postradas, y mujeres embarazadas, quienes recibieron consultas médicas, realización de pruebas de diagnóstico, y aplicación de vacunas.
Además, las brigadas ofrecieron atención psicológica, optometría, entrega de lentes, consultas dentales y servicios de laboratorio, todo de manera completamente gratuita, reafirmando que la salud es un derecho y acceder a ella es un acto de justicia, agregó.
En octubre, mes de la concientización sobre el cáncer de mama, se realizó la Cruzada Rosa, en la que se prestó servicio médico de calidad para las mujeres juarenses, y estrategias especiales en los centros comunitarios Olivia Espinoza, Granjas de Chapultepec y Palo Chino, con gran aceptación y excelentes resultados.
“En suma, se auxilió a más de 5,000 mujeres en la detección temprana de esta terrible enfermedad”, indicó el alcalde fronterizo juarense.
En cuanto a la atención a la salud mental -observó-, más de 50,000 juarenses fueron atendidos de manera gratuita con tratamientos integrales y profesionalizados, principalmente en casos de depresión, alcoholismo y drogadicción.
“Haciendo equipo con sus familias, se entregaron 400 becas a pacientes que necesitaban un tratamiento de tres meses en un centro de rehabilitación”, expuso.
Gracias a la enorme voluntad de estos pacientes, la gran mayoría ha logrado mantenerse alejados de las drogas y activos en algún oficio, mostrando un cambio radical en sus vidas y entornos familiares, afirmó Pérez Cuéllar.
Finalmente, el informe destacó que se apoyó a niñas y niños con cáncer que no cuentan con seguridad social, y en coordinación con el DIF Municipal, a familias de bajos recursos, con la compra de medicamentos oncológicos, facilitando su acceso, y transformando la realidad de la niñez y sus familias.
