El maestro Luis Alfonso Rivera Campos, rector de la Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, celebró 7 décadas de la institución con una Sesión Solemne del H. Consejo Universitario, donde se destacó su papel como un pilar del desarrollo educativo, científico, social y cultural en el estado y el país.
Durante su discurso, Rivera Campos resaltó que la UACH fue concebida bajo la visión de que la educación sería el motor para transformar la sociedad contemporánea.
“La Universidad ha sido testigo y protagonista de grandes cambios, formando a miles de ciudadanos comprometidos con una comunidad íntegra y con valores”, afirmó.
Además, mencionó el impacto de la UACH en la comunidad, al describirla como un “faro de esperanza y desarrollo”, asimismo, señaló que estos 70 años no solo son un momento para reflexionar sobre el legado de la Institución, sino también para reafirmar su misión de educar para el futuro y contribuir al bienestar social.
En el marco de esta celebración, se rindió homenaje a quienes han forjado el prestigio de la universidad, se incluyeron a estudiantes, profesores, egresados y colaboradores, particularmente el emotivo reconocimiento a los familiares del primer titulado de la UACH, Fernando Vázquez Ponce.
Además, reconoció a dos docentes, quienes brindaron conferencias en instituciones de renombre internacional.
Al Dr. Eduardo Medrano Flores, en la Universidad La Sorbona y Dr. Carlos Leal Meléndez en Harvard, así como la labor de investigadores de alto nivel, pertenecientes al Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI) Nivel III.
Esta ceremonia cerró con las tradicionales “tres campanadas”, con las que antiguamente se hacía el llamado a clases en el Instituto Científico y Literario.
Estos sonidos significan la formación del instituto de 1935 a 1954, la segunda campanada representa cuando se formó de 1954 a 1968 como Universidad de Chihuahua y la tercera, la vida institucional de la Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, lo que es en definitiva los años de modernidad educativa y profesional en el estado.
Con esta conmemoración, la UACH reafirma su compromiso con la excelencia y su rol como agente transformador en la construcción de una sociedad más justa y próspera para Chihuahua y México.
