El Presidente Municipal, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, recibió a integrantes de la familia LeBarón, quienes solicitaron una audiencia para abordar inquietudes sobre la incorporación a la Policía Municipal de una persona vinculada a hechos delictivos.
En la plática con miembros de esta familia estuvieron el secretario del Ayuntamiento, Héctor Ortiz Orpinel y el comandante Jesús Moctezuma Sánchez, de la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública Municipal.
El alcalde informó en conferencia de prensa que el ingreso del elemento se realizó conforme a los protocolos establecidos por la ley, luego de haber aprobado los exámenes de confianza y contar con documentación que no mostraba antecedentes penales.
“Nosotros no teníamos ningún elemento que advirtiera que esta persona fuera peligrosa. Pasó sus exámenes, tenía carta de no antecedentes penales y estaba asignado a funciones de resguardo del edificio sur, sin mando ni cargo operativo”, dijo Pérez Cuéllar.
Añadió que ante la gravedad de los hechos, el agente fue dado de baja y actualmente se encuentra detenido y sujeto a proceso legal.
Asimismo, el presidente rechazó la petición pública hecha por la comunidad LeBarón de que él o el secretario de Seguridad Pública Municipal renunciaran.
“Respeto su derecho a manifestarse, pero no comparto esa opinión. No tengo porqué responder por los actos reprobables de un individuo que engañó a todo el sistema. La responsabilidad es personal y hay mecanismos institucionales como la revocación de mandato para quienes deseen ejercerlos”, expresó.
Pérez Cuéllar hizo un llamado a revisar a fondo el sistema de aplicación de los exámenes de control de confianza, al señalar que el problema no es exclusivo de Juárez, sino del sistema nacional.
“La falla no está en el procedimiento local, sino en que alguien con una conducta aberrante logró pasar filtros que deberían evitar esto. Ese es el fondo del problema”, dijo.
Por su parte, personal de la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública Municipal explicó que el nombre del agente fue revisado en Plataforma México y no arrojó ninguna orden de aprehensión vigente.
