Confirma Alcalde viaje a Roma y podría ver al Papa León XIV

En el marco del Jubileo 2025 de la Iglesia Católica, el alcalde de Chihuahua, Marco Bonilla Mendoza, viajará a Roma, Italia, donde tiene “una alta” probabilidad de una audiencia con el Papa León XVI, en la sede del Vaticano.

Luego de la sesión ordinaria del Cabildo chihuahuense, en donde le fue aprobada una licencia para ausentarse del 17 al 24 de junio, el presidente municipal fue entrevistado por medios de comunicación locales, a quienes expuso que el costo de los vuelos, de él y su esposa, los sufragará personalmente, sin utilizar viáticos institucionales.

Comentó que el viaje es a invitación expresa de dos organizaciones internacionales,  Red de Acción Ética Política (RAEP), y la Network Political for Values, de manera que viajarán de martes a martes, es decir, 8 días, para completar una serie de actividades.

Relató que de igual manera, acudirán alcaldes, alcaldesas, de varios municipios del mundo, así como legisladoras, legisladores, gobernadoras y gobernadores de todo el orbe.

En cuando a la representación mexicana, detalló que serán de “todos partidos políticos, va el PRI, va Morena, va el PAN, va Movimiento Ciudadano”.

Destacó que el jubileo, que se realiza cada 25 años, representa una “ocasión única, óptima, para poder, ahora sí que renovar la fe como católicos, para encomendar el futuro personal, el futuro de esta ciudad, a Dios”.

Resaltó que además, es “muy probable, alta, altamente probable, que tengamos audiencia con el Papa León, es alta altamente probable”.

“Estamos muy contentos de poder compartir con él, de escucharlo, y como les digo, que esa plática, y esa homilía que nos de, renueve la fe, renueve las esperanzas interiores, primero para poder seguir trabajando por los valores, por los principios en Chihuahua”, concluyó.
