En el marco de la conmemoración del Día Nacional de Protección Civil, la Dirección General de Protección Civil de Ciudad Juárez reconoció la labor de su personal con un desayuno ofrecido por el Presidente Municipal, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, como muestra de agradecimiento al trabajo que realizan diariamente en beneficio de la ciudadanía.
Durante el acto, el titular de la dependencia, Sergio Rodríguez, destacó que la corporación no solo cumple funciones administrativas, también se convierte en operativa en situaciones de emergencia, como ocurrió el 25 y 26 de junio, cuando todo el personal apoyó en labores conjuntas con Bomberos y Rescate para atender a la población.
Rodríguez subrayó que la Dirección se fortalece de manera constante. Recordó que recientemente se entregaron ocho vehículos utilitarios para atender operaciones y emergencias, a lo que se sumó la entrega de nueve camionetas el pasado 18 de agosto, con una inversión municipal de 3 millones 840,400 pesos. Los nuevos vehículos —ocho Pick Up Dodge RAM 2025 y una Pick Up RAM 2024— tienen como objetivo agilizar inspecciones de seguridad, supervisión de eventos masivos y atención de reportes ciudadanos.
El funcionario remarcó que, además de reaccionar ante desastres, la labor actual de Protección Civil está enfocada en la prevención, con supervisiones e inspecciones que alcanzan alrededor de 14 mil revisiones anuales en comercios, industrias, espacios públicos y eventos masivos.
“Protección Civil es más que inspección, somos una fuerza operativa que responde cuando la ciudad lo necesita, y con el respaldo del Presidente Municipal seguimos reforzando nuestras capacidades para prevenir riesgos y salvaguardar la vida de los juarenses”, expresó Rodríguez.
En el presídium estuvieron presentes Cecilia López, jefa del Departamento de Normatividad y Trámite; Ana Carmen Estrada, síndica Municipal; David Abdo Villalba, jefe de área del Departamento de Administración y Riesgos; Sergio Rodríguez, director general de Protección Civil; Roberto Barraza, coordinador de directores, y Rubí Enríquez, Presidenta del DIF Municipal.
