El presidente de la Unión Ganadera Regional de Chihuahua, Álvaro Bustillos Fuentes, anunció este jueves que buscarán gestionar la reapertura de la frontera, mediante la contratación de los servicios de un despacho jurídico en los Estados Unidos.
La decisión fue tomada, luego de que la exportación de ganado mexicano hacia los Estados Unidos lleva varios meses detenida, ocasionada por la plaga del gusano barrenador, misma que fue detectada en la zona sur de México, situación que generó la inmovilización de miles de cabezas de ganado.
El Departamento de Agricultura, ha negado la reapertura de la frontera, argumentando que la plaga antes mencionada no ha sido controlada en el país.
Álvaro Bustillos hizo un llamado a dichas uniones ganaderas para que se unan en torno a este esfuerzo, y buscar la manera de que en un corto plazo, la frontera se vuelva a reabrir y tengan la posibilidad de cruzar su ganado hacia los Estados Unidos.
