El alcalde de Chihuahua Capital Marco Bonilla dio la bienvenida a las 200 alumnas de la primera generación de la Universidad de las Mujeres, un proyecto histórico impulsado desde el Gobierno Municipal en convenio con la World Literacy Organization (WLO).
Con una inversión internacional de 100 millones de pesos, se otorgarán 1,800 becas con cobertura de hasta el 80%, colegiaturas accesibles y la posibilidad de doble titulación en México y Europa, abriendo oportunidades educativas sin precedentes.
“Ustedes están escribiendo historia. Este proyecto nació para demostrar que cuando el gobierno escucha y las mujeres se organizan, los resultados llegan, y llegan en grande”, afirmó Bonilla.
Aseguró que no solo inician una carrera universitaria, sino que construyen un legado, pues con cada paso escriben las primeras páginas de esta historia y con ellas los sueños de toda una generación. “Chihuahua sigue dando norte a todo México en materia de educación”, afirmó.
La directora del Instituto Municipal de las Mujeres, Mónica Meléndez, destacó que este modelo es único en el país, mientras que el representante de la WLO, Edgar Piñón, lo calificó como una gestión visionaria que abre camino a las chihuahuenses para transformar su vida, la de sus familias y comunidades.
