Este martes, el pleno de la Cámara de Diputados discutirá reformas a la Ley General de Salud, en las que se prohíbe en su totalidad la fabricación, importación, exportación, distribución, comercialización, publicidad y uso de cigarrillos electrónicos o vapeadores.
No obstante, la bancada de Morena en San Lázaro señaló que es falso que la propuesta contemple la detención o sanción privativa de la libertad para jóvenes o consumidores que sean encontrados utilizando vapeadores.
Dejó en claro que lo que si se contemplan son apercibimientos, y “nunca detención”. Apuntó que “las sanciones sí aplican para quienes produzcan, comercialicen o vendan vapeadores, incluidas empresas dedicadas a esta actividad”.
“En el caso de productores comercializadores, vendedores sí hay sanciones concretas. Se ha dicho una mentira de que el que fume se la va a meter a la cárcel. Eso no es cierto”, puntualizó en conferencia de prensa, el coordinador de Moren, Ricardo Monreal.
Destacó que el enfoque hacia los consumidores debe ser principalmente de concientización, cultura e información sobre los riesgos del uso de cigarros electrónicos, cuyo consumo ha aumentado notablemente entre niños, adolescentes y jóvenes.
“Pero en el consumidor, lo que tenemos que hacer es una campaña intensa de concientización del daño que te causa fumar cigarros electrónicos. O sea, es conciencia, cultura, sobre ellos es un mercado que ha crecido bastante… Es enorme el impacto que está causando en males con este consumo de cigarros electrónicos Y no hay sanciones para ellos”, añadió.
