Durante su conferencia, Sheinbaum se refirió a las posturas asumidas por el próximo embajador de Estados Unidos en México, Ronald Johnson, un ex militar de las fuerzas especiales, que no desestimó la posibilidad de acciones militares estadunidenses para combatir a los cárteles mexicanos. “No estamos de acuerdo”, acotó la mandataria.
Señaló que desde las primeras reuniones en Washington se establecieron principios de coordinación y colaboración, a partir del intercambio de información entre autoridades de ambos países. Recordó que la distribución de drogas en Estados Unidos, que representa un delito, les corresponde a las autoridades estadounidenses atenderlo.
Acotó que si se ratifica en Estados Unidos la propuesta para quién sería el nuevo embajador, ofreció que habría una buena relación. En este marco, resaltó que el secretario de Estado, Marco Rubio dijo que el gobierno estadounidense apoyará para evitar el tráfico de armas a México desde su país.
