La Presidenta de México, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, destacó que el Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles (AIFA) ha tenido un crecimiento en número de pasajeros, rutas nacionales e internacionales, consolidándose como el principal aeródromo de carga; además de que el 90 por ciento de sus usuarios están satisfechos.
“Lo importante aquí es que sigue creciendo el número de pasajeros, siguen creciendo las rutas nacionales e internacionales de diversas aerolíneas, es el principal aeropuerto de carga en el país y como se planeó en el 2024 ya no requiere presupuesto del presupuesto de la federación para poderse mantener y operar, sino que ya es, no solamente sustentable, sino que además tiene ingresos adicionales (…)
“Es una visión distinta, en los gobiernos del pasado era la visión del negocio por el negocio en manos privadas, y ahora la visión es que es un aeropuerto del pueblo de México y de la Nación y que da perspectiva de futuro, no solamente para el propio aeropuerto sino para la zona”, destacó.
Por ello, anunció que uno de los Polos del Bienestar proyectados para los siguientes años estará construido en el AIFA, pensado en el desarrollo regional de la zona y aprovechando la capacidad de carga del aeropuerto.
Puntualizó que contrario a lo que muchos apostaban, los resultados del AIFA demuestran que es lo mejor que se pudo haber hecho, en particular porque la construcción de un aeropuerto en Texcoco hubiese sido inviable en términos económicos y físicos al ser una zona de hundimientos.
El director general del AIFA, Isidoro Pastor Román, informó que el AIFA es el sexto aeródromo de los 80 existentes en el Sistema Aeroportuario Mexicano; en 2024 alcanzó su punto máximo en noviembre con 624 mil 883 pasajeros transportados y se estima que cerrará el año con 6.2 millones de pasajeros.
Precisó que el AIFA ha transportado 581 toneladas de mercancía con lo que se ha recaudado 118 mil 167 millones de pesos (mdp), por lo que desde el 2023 es el principal aeropuerto de carga. Además destacó que desde el primer trimestre de este año este aeropuerto superó el punto de equilibrio, lo que quiere decir que tiene saldo a favor, y puntualizó que se espera al cierre de este año facture 2 mil 700 mdp con un gasto de operación de 2 mil 350 mdp.
Explicó que al comienzo de sus operaciones el 21 de marzo de 2022 se tenían seis rutas nacionales y a la fecha ya se cuenta con 37 destinos nacionales hacia las principales ciudades de negocios y de turismo en el país. Asimismo, en 2022 únicamente se contaba con la ruta internacional hacia Caracas, Venezuela, mientras que hoy ya se tiene 9 nueve destinos internacionales, incluida una hacia Sofía, Bulgaria.
Con ello, la viabilidad del AIFA se resume en que:
- Ha cumplido su objetivo, permite atender el incremento de la demanda de transportación aérea
- Contribuye al desarrollo de la industria aeroportuaria conectividad y movilidad de personas y mercancías.
- Genera más de 17,400 empleos directos y 150,000 indirectos.
- En tan sólo 2 años ha superado el punto de equilibrio.
- Brinda servicios con calidad, seguridad y oportunidad.
