En el marco del Día del Periodista, la Síndica de Chihuahua, Olivia Franco, reconoció el trabajo que realizan diariamente las y los periodistas, destacando su papel fundamental en la vida democrática, la transparencia y el derecho de la ciudadanía a estar informada.
“La labor periodística es esencial para una sociedad informada y participativa. Las y los periodistas no solo informan, también investigan, cuestionan y dan voz a la ciudadanía”, expresó la Síndica.
Olivia Franco subrayó que el ejercicio del periodismo contribuye al fortalecimiento de las instituciones y a la rendición de cuentas, elementos clave para la construcción de gobiernos más abiertos y responsables. “Reconozco el compromiso, la ética y la valentía con la que desempeñan su trabajo, muchas veces en contextos complejos”, añadió.
Finalmente, refrendó su respeto y disposición para mantener una relación de apertura y colaboración con los medios de comunicación, reiterando que la información veraz y oportuna es un pilar para el desarrollo democrático del municipio.
