Ante el incremento de casos de rickettsiosis en el estado, la diputada local de Morena, Jael Argüelles Díaz, en coordinación con César Díaz, titular de la Dirección de Ecología del Municipio, encabezó una jornada de fumigación en el kilómetro 29 con el objetivo de prevenir riesgos a la salud de las familias de la zona.
Durante la campaña se realizaron labores de fumigación en viviendas de la colonia para combatir y eliminar garrapatas e insectos que pueden transmitir la bacteria Rickettsia, así como reducir el riesgo de mordeduras que puedan derivar en contagios.
De acuerdo con datos oficiales, durante la semana epidemiológica 07 —del 1 de enero al 22 de febrero— en el estado de Chihuahua se han confirmado nueve casos de rickettsiosis y una defunción. Entre los casos registrados se encuentra el fallecimiento de un menor en el municipio de Chihuahua, además de cuatro pacientes sobrevivientes en Ciudad Juárez.
En cuanto a los grupos de edad afectados, uno corresponde al rango de 1 a 4 años, siete al de 5 a 14 años y uno más al de 25 a 44 años, según la información oficial.
La legisladora subrayó la importancia de fortalecer las acciones preventivas en las colonias, especialmente en aquellas donde las condiciones favorecen la proliferación de garrapatas, por lo que reiteró su compromiso de continuar impulsando este tipo de jornadas en beneficio de la comunidad.
Asimismo, se informó que los trabajos de fumigación se realizaron con productos adecuados y seguros para la población, y que el servicio fue brindado de manera totalmente gratuito para las y los vecinos del sector.
