En un encuentro con alumnos de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, el diputado por el Partido Acción Nacional (PAN), Jorge Soto, destacó la importancia de la preparación y la participación informada de los jóvenes en los asuntos públicos, durante su visita al Congreso del Estado.
El legislador panista reflexionó sobre la historia política del país y los mecanismos que fortalecen la democracia, como la figura de representación proporcional o plurinominal, la cual —explicó— garantiza que todas las voces tengan presencia en los órganos legislativos. “Si no existiera esta figura, un solo partido con el 51% de los votos podría tener toda la representación, dejando sin voz al 49% restante. Por eso es importante entender cómo funcionan nuestras instituciones”, señaló.
Durante su diálogo con los estudiantes, Soto subrayó que el conocimiento jurídico debe ir acompañado de un compromiso social. “La política y el derecho están profundamente ligados. Las decisiones públicas impactan directamente en nuestra vida diaria, incluso cuando no las percibimos de inmediato”, expresó.
Al abordar temas económicos, el diputado advirtió sobre los riesgos del endeudamiento público y sus consecuencias. “En los últimos siete años, la deuda nacional prácticamente se ha duplicado. Hoy, el 14% del presupuesto federal se destina al pago de intereses, dinero que no llega a carreteras, salud o medicamentos. Esto demuestra cómo las malas decisiones políticas tienen efectos reales en la vida de todos”, explicó.
Finalmente, Jorge Soto exhortó a los futuros abogados a mantenerse informados, participar activamente y ejercer su vocación con ética y compromiso. “México necesita profesionistas críticos, preparados y conscientes de que el conocimiento jurídico es también una herramienta para empoderar al ciudadano y construir un mejor país”, concluyó.
