La presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo demandó al gobierno de Estados Unidos exponer cuáles son los indicadores de sanidad para mantener cerrada la frontera al ganado mexicano por la plaga del gusano barrenador.
En la parte técnica, afirmó, no observa problemas políticos para mantener la decisión de impedir el paso del ganado a territorio estadunidense; sin embargo, advirtió que en el ámbito electoral, sí hay algunos miembros del gabinete de su homólogo Donald Trump que tienen un trasfondo político en el que utilizan a México en su beneficio usándose el asunto de esta plaga.
En la mañanera de este jueves en Palacio Nacional, la mandataria federal informó que ayer el titular de la Secretaría de Agricultura, Julio Berdegué, dialogo con su par estadunidense, Brooke Rollins, para continuar con las negociaciones para abrir la frontera, cerrada desde mayo.
“Qué decimos nosotros y qué hemos hecho, porque hemos hecho muchísimo, para controlar gusano: se tienen filtros, hay veterinarios revisando, lavado de los animales, varias acciones que se tienen. ¿Qué pedimos en términos técnicos? No veo problema político en términos técnicos, (pedimos) que quede perfectamente claro cuáles son los indicadores para que ellos cierren la frontera, cuáles son indicadores de sanidad”.
