El director del Instituto Municipal de Cultura Física y Deporte, Juan José Abdo Fierro, dio a conocer que la tercera etapa de construcción del Polideportivo Luis H. Álvarez será inaugurada oficialmente hoy 11 de febrero a las 5:00 de la tarde, por lo cual, invitó a la ciudadanía a conocer estas instalaciones deportivas y hacer uso de las mismas.
Este evento tiene como propósito dar por concluida la construcción de este Polideportivo que se encuentra ubicado en la colonia Quintas Carolinas, al norte de la ciudad, a un costado de la Vialidad Sacramento.
El funcionario informó que la construcción de la primera etapa costó 60 millones de pesos, mientras que la segunda 96 millones y esta tercera se llevó un total de 82 millones, por lo cual, el Polideportivo fue construido con una inversión de 238 millones de pesos.
Con dicha inversión, esta zona deportiva tiene 14 hectáreas de extensión, en donde se colocaron 32 canchas, para practicar 25 disciplinas, sin embargo, el director Abdo Fierro señaló que estas instalaciones pueden ser adaptadas para otras disciplinas.
Algunos de los deportes que se pueden practicar en el Polideportivo Luis H. Álvarez son softball, fútbol 7, fútbol soccer, fútbol americano, racquetball, básquetbol, voleibol y pronto también pádel; fútbol rápido, tenis y calistenia, así como skateboard, entre otros deportes.
“El Polideportivo vino es un cambio radical en la práctica del deporte, pero también en a fisonomía de la misma colonia, de la ciudad, vino a darle un giro completamente diferente a la zona; antes eran predios baldíos, corrales, etcétera”, el titular de del Instituto de Cultura y Deporte indicó que los mismos vecinos de la zona les comentaron que es un cambio agradable para esta parte de la ciudad.
