A 06 de agosto de 2024.- El Gobierno Municipal, a través del Instituto Municipal de Prevención y Atención a la Salud (IMPAS), comparte las medidas para conservar correctamente la leche materna a fin de poder sacarle el máximo provecho a este alimento para garantizar la óptima nutrición del bebé.
Cabe destacar que la leche materna proporciona todos los nutrientes esenciales y anticuerpos que los bebes necesitan para crecer y desarrollarse, sin embargo, puede deteriorarse si no se almacena correctamente, de ahí la importancia de seguir las pautas adecuadas para preservar sus beneficios y evitar enfermedades transmitidas por alimentos.
Los métodos de almacenamiento pueden variar según el tiempo en el que se planee usar la leche:
- Si la toma es próxima, la leche puede mantenerse a una temperatura ambiente de hasta cuatro horas.
- Si se desea usar la leche en los próximos tres días, puede permanecer fresca en el refrigerador.
- En caso de que no se cuente con una fecha para utilizar el alimento, se debe almacenar en el congelador, ya que ahí puede durar hasta tres o cuatro meses.
Asimismo, se recomienda que se almacenen porciones de tres a cuatro onzas en frascos de vidrio con tapadera de plástico de grado alimenticio, o en botes y bolsas especiales para guardar leche materna.
El IMPAS también sugiere la etiquetación de los distintos envases, ya que esto ayuda a dar claridad en la fecha y hora de extracción, para evitar confusiones y usar primero la leche más antigua.
Finalmente, el Gobierno Municipal recuerda que cuenta con centros de lactancia en diferentes puntos de la ciudad, en donde se podrán acercar para alimentar a su bebé o bien extraer su leche de una manera cómoda, higiénica y digna.
