El Gobierno Municipal, a través de la Secretaría del Ayuntamiento y la Dirección de Seguridad Pública Municipal, en colaboración con la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (Defensa), invita a la ciudadanía a participar en el “Canje de Armas 2025”.
Esta campaña de desarme, que fomenta la seguridad y bienestar de la comunidad mediante el canje voluntario de armas de fuego, se llevará a cabo a partir del 1 de abril de 9:00 am a 2:00 pm, en el kiosco de la Plaza de Armas.
En sus palabras el secretario del Ayuntamiento refirió que para el alcalde Marco Bonilla, la seguridad y el bienestar de la ciudadanía son una prioridad innegociable, y que, con esta iniciativa, se busca reducir la presencia de armas de fuego para prevenir accidentes, homicidios y tragedias familiares; “no se trata solo de retirar armas, sino de salvar vidas y construir un Chihuahua más seguro para todos.”
Asimismo, el director de Seguridad Pública Municipal, Julios Salas, compartió que se ofrecerá acompañamiento para el traslado de los ciudadanos que deseen participar en este programa, para seguridad de ellos, y para ello, pueden marcar al 9-1-1.
De igual forma refirió que el año pasado se retiraron de las calles más de 7 mil cartuchos de diversos calibres, 257 cargadores, 64 armas de fuego, cuatro granadas y más.
El Mayor de Infantería Constantino Martínez Larios, platicó del programa que no habrá investigación ni interrogatorio sobre la procedencia en la recepción del armamento, que ahí habrá personal especialista para valorar el objeto y con base al tabulador brindar el desarme.
Además, refirió que en la Clasificación de las Armas se consideran nueve categorías distintas desde armas de elaboración casera, armas cortas y largas, artefactos de artillería, granadas, explosivos, y armas de gas y aire comprimido.
Se hace un llamado a todos los habitantes de Chihuahua que pudieran tener algún tipo de arma para que participen activamente en esta campaña, con el fin de lograr una ciudad más segura para todos.
