El secretario de Estado de Estados Unidos, Marco Rubio, podría viajar a China junto al presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump, durante su visita prevista a Pekín a finales de marzo, pese a estar sancionado por el gobierno chino desde 2020, informó este viernes el diario hongkonés South China Morning Post.
El rotativo, que cita fuentes conocedoras de los preparativos bajo condición de anonimato, señala que Rubio había sido invitado anteriormente a visitar China, pero no se mostró receptivo hasta fechas recientes.
Su eventual presencia podría ayudar a resolver algunas de las dificultades surgidas en la preparación del viaje de Trump, ya que en Pekín existe cierta frustración por la falta de avances en los preparativos de la visita, según las fuentes citadas por el medio.
