La presidenta de México, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, anunció que Omar Reyes Colmenares será el próximo titular de la Unidad de Inteligencia Financiera (UIF) en sustitución de Pablo Gómez, quien el fin de semana fue nombrado como titular de la Comisión Presidencial de la Reforma Electoral.
Dicho anuncio fue realizado en la conferencia matutina de Palacio Nacional, donde Sheinbaum Pardo apuntó que dicho nombramiento tiene que pasar primero por la Comisión Permanente del Congreso de la Unión.
El Gobierno de México anunció el sábado 2 de agosto de 2025 la creación de la Comisión Presidencial para la Reforma Electoral, que tendrá como objetivo hacer un diagnóstico “profundo” del estado en el que se encuentra el modelo electoral y de partidos, y confeccionar una reforma legislativa.
En un comunicado, la Administración de Claudia Sheinbaum detalló que esta nueva comisión estará encabezada por Pablo Gómez Álvarez, quien se desempeñó como titular de la Unidad de Inteligencia Financiera (UIF).
