El Congreso de Perú aprobó este martes una moción de censura contra el presidente José Jerí por 75 votos a favor, 24 en contra y tres abstenciones, por inconducta funcional y falta de idoneidad para ejercer el cargo tras un juicio político.
Jerí, el séptimo jefe de Estado peruano en 10 años, fue removido del cargo al que accedió como presidente del Congreso en octubre de 2025.
“La mesa directiva declara la vacancia del presidente de la república”, anunció el jefe encargado del Congreso, Fernando Rospigliosi. El parlamento elegirá el miércoles a un nuevo jefe del legislativo, quien automáticamente asumirá la presidencia interina de Perú hasta el 28 de julio.
