El presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, afirmó este lunes que se plantea enviar a la Guardia Nacional a los aeropuertos del país si se mantienen las filas y retrasos que están generando caos por la falta de agentes debido al cierre parcial del Departamento de Seguridad Nacional (DHS, por sus siglas en inglés).
Este mismo lunes, Trump envió agentes federales de migración a 13 aeropuertos para reforzar al personal de la Administración de Seguridad del Transporte (TSA, por sus siglas en inglés) y tratar de normalizar la situación.
“Quiero agradecer al ICE (siglas del Servicio de Migración y Control de Aduanas), porque intervinieron con mucha contundencia. Lo harán muy bien. Y si eso no es suficiente, desplegaré la Guardia Nacional”, afirmó el mandatario ante los periodistas que se encontraban presentes.
