La Comisión de Medio Ambiente, Ecología y Desarrollo Sustentable del Congreso del Estado anunció la realización de dos foros públicos para presentar los resultados del trabajo técnico en torno a la reforma integral de la Ley de Bienestar Animal.
Estos foros, que se realizarán de manera presencial, el 10 de julio en Ciudad Juárez y el 17 de julio en la ciudad de Chihuahua, serán el espacio donde se expondrán los principales hallazgos, propuestas y consensos alcanzados tras varios meses de análisis especializado.
Desde su instalación formal el 12 de febrero de 2025, la Mesa Técnica en materia de Bienestar Animal ha celebrado 10 reuniones con la participación de instituciones como la Fiscalía General del Estado, Secretaría General de Gobierno, Secretaría de Salud, Seguridad Pública, PROFEPA, SEMARNAT, UACH, UACJ e ITESM. En total, se analizaron 12 iniciativas, lo que permitió generar un diagnóstico amplio sobre los retos legislativos en esta materia.
Durante la misma sesión, la Comisión también dio entrada a dos iniciativas relacionadas con el manejo de residuos en el estado:
• La primera busca crear una Ley para la Promoción y Separación de los Residuos de Vidrio en el Estado de Chihuahua, con el objetivo de fomentar la cultura del reciclaje y reducir el impacto ambiental de este material.
• La segunda plantea reformas a la Ley para la Prevención y Gestión Integral de los Residuos del Estado, enfocadas en fortalecer los procesos de autorización para la disposición final, garantizando mayor trazabilidad y control.
La reunión fue encabezada por el diputado Octavio Javier Borunda Quevedo, presidente de la Comisión, en compañía de la diputada Rosana Díaz Reyes y el diputado Luis Fernando Chacón, quienes destacaron la importancia de mantener espacios de diálogo técnico y ciudadano para construir legislación ambiental sólida y con visión de largo plazo.
