La Secretaría de Turismo llevó a cabo una serie de actividades en El Paso, Texas, con el propósito de promover a Chihuahua como un destino potencial para el público norteamericano.
La agenda incluyó entrevistas con medios de comunicación locales, activaciones gastronómicas y presentaciones de destinos, encabezadas por el titular de la dependencia, Edibray Gómez.
Asimismo, se realizaron dos emisiones del programa televisivo Small Town Spotlight (Pueblos Pequeños Destacados), transmitido a través del canal KTSM 9, las cuales estuvieron dedicadas principalmente a la promoción de los cinco Pueblos Mágicos de Chihuahua: Batopilas, Casas Grandes, Creel, Guachochi e Hidalgo del Parral.
El programa también presentó otros atractivos del estado, como el Parque Barrancas y la Casa de Juan Gabriel, en Ciudad Juárez. Además, se dedicó un segmento gastronómico en el que el chef Jaime Armendáriz Pérez, mostró algunos de los platillos más representativos de la cocina chihuahuense.
Los funcionarios estatales aprovecharon la ocasión para invitar al público a asistir a los próximos eventos que se llevarán a cabo en la entidad, como la carrera de ultradistancias Chihuahua By UTMB, programada para octubre en la Sierra Tarahumara, y el Concurso Internacional de Vinos, Espirituosos y Cervezas Artesanales México Selection, que se realizará en noviembre en la ciudad de Chihuahua.
También se anunció la próxima apertura del vuelo directo entre Chihuahua y El Paso, operado por la aerolínea TAR, que iniciará operaciones el próximo año.
Como parte de las actividades, se realizó una cata de vinos locales en el Consulado de México en El Paso, dirigida por el director de Promoción Turística y sommelier, Germán Orrantia. La degustación incluyó etiquetas de las casas vinícolas Alta Mira, Amelia, Pinesque y Encinillas.
El evento contó con la presencia del cónsul general, Mauricio Ibarra Ponce de León, así como de representantes de medios de comunicación locales y empresarios.
Las actividades de promoción de Chihuahua en El Paso continuarán en las próximas semanas, ya que la entidad será el estado invitado en el evento de El Grito de Independencia “Vivamos México”, que se efectuará el sábado 13 de septiembre, a partir de las 17:00 horas en el Centro de Convenciones de la ciudad.
