Jorge Romero Herrera, diputado federal por la Ciudad de México, obtuvo el triunfo de la contienda por la renovación del Comité Ejecutivo Nacional (CEN) del Partido Acción Nacional (PAN), con 96,533 votos, que representan el 79.9% del total emitido en el país.
Su dirigencia no ha empezado y ya enfrenta una serie de acusaciones en su contra, que van desde la inconformidad de su rival, Adriana Dávila, por presuntos “dados cargados” a su favor, al ser del equipo del dirigente nacional saliente, Marko Cortés, hasta los señalamientos directos de la presidenta del país, Claudia Sheinbaum sobre corrupción y su vínculo con “El Cártel Inombiliario”.
Además, lo que resaltó del proceso que ocurrió este domingo 10 de noviembre, fue el gran abstencionismo que se registró, que llegó a un 65% del padrón de la militancia registrado ante la Comisión Organizadora Nacional de la Elección del Comité Ejecutivo Nacional (Concecen).
Romero Herrera es diputado federal con licencia, tiene 45 años, su carrera política la ha hecho en CDMX, es abogado de profesión, y su perfil en la política comenzó como líder de las bases juveniles del PAN, ha sido diputado local dos veces, 2006-2009, y 2015-2018.
Fue alcalde de la Delegación Benito Juárez (2012-2015), fue diputado federal en tres legislaturas consecutivas, desde 2018, y en el interior del albiazul es señalado como parte del grupo de Marko Cortés, y por ello tuvo este apoyo abrumador para promocionar su candidatura.
Durante la jornada electoral, Jorge Romero se autoproclamó ganador, 1 hora antes de que la Concecen diera a conocer los resultados oficiales.
En su mensaje, ofreció disculpas a los militantes y a México “por los errores cometidos por su partido”, prometió “reconstruirlo”, cambiar para que “vuelvan a creer en Acción Nacional como oposición y como la opción de gobierno que le urge al país”.
Reiteró la invitación a su contrincante, Adriana Dávila, para trabajar juntos, pero dentro de su planilla quienes lo acompañan son Santiago Taboada, y Karen González.
Jorge Romero, desde hace años, fue acusado de integrar una red de corrupción inmobiliaria, en la Alcaldía Benito Juárez, de CDMX, y por ese delito quedó detenido su sucesor delegacional, Christian Von Roehrich.
El proceso de entrega-recepción del CEN para el 2024-2027, comenzará el viernes 15 de este mes, y entre los retos que enfrentará Romero y su equipo será el de las elecciones intermedias federales, y de 15 gubernaturas.
Al respecto, el próximo dirigente panista afirmó estar consciente de que “ya no competimos con Morena, vamos a competir contra toda la fuerza del Estado”.
