Con el objetivo de reforzar la seguridad y brindar mayor tranquilidad a la población, el Gobierno Municipal de Chihuahua, a través de la Dirección de Seguridad Pública Municipal (DSPM), impulsa el trabajo del Grupo de Operaciones Motorizadas (GOM) de la Policía Municipal, una unidad especializada que destaca por su rápida capacidad de reacción.
Gracias al uso de motocicletas de doble propósito, los elementos del GOM pueden desplazarse con mayor agilidad hacia zonas de difícil acceso, así como ingresar a áreas con alta carga vehicular, lo que permite atender emergencias de manera oportuna y fortalecer la presencia policial en distintos puntos de la ciudad.
El policía tercero Pavel López, jefe del GOM, explicó que la versatilidad de esta unidad permite reducir los tiempos de respuesta ante incidentes que se presentan durante su horario de servicio, lo que se traduce en mayor seguridad para la ciudadanía.
El Grupo de Operaciones Motorizadas cuenta con dos años de operación, pertenece a la Subdirección Táctica y está integrado por 18 elementos que se organizan por turnos para mantenerse activos en las calles, especialmente en los horarios que estadísticamente muestran mayor incidencia delictiva.
Además de sus labores ordinarias, el GOM apoya acciones específicas en cualquiera de los seis distritos policiales de la ciudad, lo que incrementa la eficiencia operativa y permite reforzar sectores que requieren atención inmediata.
Una parte importante de las detenciones realizadas por este grupo está relacionada con delitos contra la salud cometidos en la vía pública y en flagrancia. Como ejemplo, su coordinador recordó el rescate de un menor que se encontraba en una vivienda invadida en el sector Oriente, donde tras una intervención se aseguró droga y un arma de fuego, logrando la detención de tres hombres y una mujer.
El policía tercero Pavel López destacó que el principal valor del GOM es la capacidad de reacción y el compromiso de sus integrantes, quienes trabajan de manera constante para combatir tanto robos como el narcomenudeo en flagrancia, logrando diariamente puestas a disposición ante las autoridades correspondientes.
La creación y operación del Grupo de Operaciones Motorizadas es reflejo del compromiso del Gobierno Municipal de Chihuahua por fortalecer la seguridad con unidades especializadas, enfocadas en generar mayor paz y tranquilidad para las familias chihuahuenses.
