Este viernes 26 de septiembre, el primer ministro de Israel, Benjamín Netanyahu, habló ante otros representantes de gobiernos de todo el mundo y se pronunció a favor de mantener las operaciones militares en la Franja de Gaza. Ante otros líderes mundiales, el premier israelí dijo que su país”debe terminar el trabajo” contra Hamás en Gaza, pese a las críticas internacionales y el creciente aislamiento internacional de su gobierno por terminar el conflicto armado en Gaza.
Ante esta protesta de los representantes de otros gobiernos, Netanyahu se lanzó diciendo que los países que han reconocido la estadidad palestina sólo alientan el terrorismo mundial. “Su vergonzosa decisión alentará el terrorismo contra los judíos y contra personas inocentes en todas partes”, afirmó.
Además de las personas que abandonaron el salón donde se celebraba la Asamblea General, hubo otros detractores del líder israelí que gritaron consignas mientras hablaba. Aquellos que apoyan la política de Netanyahu respondieron con aplausos. “El antisemitismo tarda en morir. De hecho, no muere en absoluto”, continúo en su discurso.
La delegación de Estados Unidos, el principal aliado de Israel, permaneció en su sitio, sin embargo, no había políticos de alto nivel, ni siquiera el embajador ante la ONU, sino que el grupo fue integrado por funcionarios y diplomáticos jóvenes.
