El diputado Óscar Avitia, presidente de la Comisión de Educación Cultura Física y Deporte del Congreso del Estado de Chihuahua, solicitó a la Secretaría de Educación y Deporte aplazar el reinicio del ciclo escolar, del jueves 9 hasta el lunes 13 de enero.
Lo anterior, debido a las temperaturas extremas a la baja, que se pronosticaron por las autoridades climatológicas para esta semana, por la entrada del frente frío número 21, considerado el más severo de la temporada invernal.
Según el Sistema Meteorológico Nacional, municipios como Ciudad Juárez, Ojinaga, y la región serrana podrían registrar hasta -15°C, y tienen alta probabilidad de nevadas.
Para la capital del estado, y el resto de los municipios, también se presentan cifras por debajo de los cero grados, lo cual es riesgo significativo para la salud y la seguridad de la comunidad escolar.
“Como representantes populares, nuestra prioridad es proteger la integridad de las niñas, niños y adolescentes, así como garantizar un entorno adecuado para su aprendizaje. No podemos ignorar las condiciones climáticas extremas, ni los retos que enfrentan nuestras escuelas para asegurar un ambiente cálido en el aula”, declaró el legislador.
Avitia enfatizó que muchas escuelas cerraron el año 2024, con dificultades para adquirir gas o calentones, situación que expone al estudiantado al frío intenso.
Otro factor a considerar -mencionó- es el congelamiento de carreteras y calles, que incide en los traslados de alumnos, docentes, y familias.
“El regreso a clases después de las vacaciones de diciembre es esperanzador por el inicio del año, pero también debe ser seguro. Solicitamos a las autoridades educativas que salvaguardemos la integridad de nuestros estudiantes y asegurarles un regreso a clases con aulas cálidas para un mejor aprendizaje”, señaló.
Reafirmó su compromiso con la infancia chihuahuense, y con la educación como eje central de su agenda legislativa, e hizo un llamado a las autoridades educativas y a la ciudadanía para “trabajar en conjunto y superar los retos educativos en este año 2025”.
