El subsecretario de Salud, Eduardo Clark, informó que en México se han aplicado 17.2 millones de vacunas contra el sarampión desde el pasado 12 de febrero, como parte de la estrategia nacional para contener la enfermedad.
Durante su intervención, el funcionario señaló que esta campaña de vacunación ha permitido observar una tendencia a la baja en los casos en las 32 entidades del país durante las últimas cuatro semanas.
Clark reiteró que la vacunación es la medida más eficaz para controlar el sarampión, tanto en México como a nivel mundial. “La estrategia para controlar el sarampión es vacunar, es la más eficiente”, destacó.
Asimismo, precisó que las más de 17 millones de dosis se han aplicado en un periodo de siete semanas, lo que ha contribuido a reducir la incidencia de la enfermedad en todo el territorio nacional.
El subsecretario subrayó que los resultados reflejan el impacto de la estrategia iniciada el 12 de febrero, la cual ha logrado revertir la tendencia de contagios en el país.
