EFE.- El presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump, anunció este jueves en una orden ejecutiva que los nuevos aranceles globales, que estaba previsto que entraran en vigor este viernes, comenzarán a aplicarse a partir del 7 de agosto.
El nuevo plan arancelario fue publicado en la página web de la Casa Blanca horas antes de que expirara el plazo concedido a sus socios para llegar a un acuerdo sobre nuevos gravámenes.
En el mismo se precisó que las modificaciones al arancel “armonizado” entrarán en vigor a partir de las 12:01 de la madrugada, hora del este estadounidense, siete días después de la fecha del decreto ratificado.
La orden destaca que algunos socios comerciales de Estados Unidos han acordado, o están a punto de acordar, compromisos significativos en materia de comercio y seguridad.
Otros, a pesar de haber participado en negociaciones, han ofrecido términos que, a su juicio, no abordan “de manera suficiente” los desequilibrios en la relación comercial o no han logrado alinearse adecuadamente con Estados Unidos en cuestiones económicas y de seguridad nacional.

Además, países como Birmania (Myanmar) y Laos estarán sujetos a gravámenes del 40%. Y sólo tres países (la República Democrática de Congo, Guinea Ecuatorial y Suiza) tendrán aranceles superiores a los que ya se les aplicaban de acuerdo a los datos de CNN.
