La secretaria de Cultura, Claudia Curiel informó que se han inscrito 5 mil 821 personas: 4 mil 578 de México y mil 243 de Estados Unidos, en el concurso México Canta.
Dijo que es un evento binacional dirigido a jóvenes compositores e intérpretes mexicanos y méxico-estadounidenses de hasta 29 años.
El objetivo es fortalecer la nueva música mexicana, promoviendo letras que reflejen la riqueza cultural del país.
Como se ha reiterado en varias ocasiones, no se trata de prohibir ciertos géneros musicales, sino de fomentar, desde la Secretaría de Cultura y el Gobierno, la creatividad de las y los jóvenes, al tiempo que se impulsa la preservación y el fortalecimiento de los diversos géneros de la música mexicana”, comentó.
