El Presidente Municipal, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar hizo una visita de cortesía a la Comisión Internacional de Límites y Aguas (CILA) para hablar sobre las cuestiones hidrológicas en la región.
El alcalde se reunió con la Comisionada Adriana Reséndez Maldonado, quien le dio a conocer los diferentes proyectos que se tienen en cuanto al cuidado y los tratados del agua en la frontera.
Pérez Cuéllar dijo que existe el compromiso de ir de la mano para trabajar en lo que se refiere a la calidad del agua, aguas superficiales y subterráneas, así como líneas divisorias.
Como muestra de cordialidad, Reséndez Maldonado entregó al Presidente el primer mapa de la ciudad, que data del año 1884, el cual fue una copia hecha a mano y muestra como era Ciudad Juárez en ese entonces.
Este plano es de cuando aún era conocida como Villa Paso del Norte, elaborado por la Comisión Mexicana de Límites, antes de ser la Comisión Internacional de Límites y Aguas.
