Trump y Zelenski llevaban 30 minutos haciendo declaraciones ante la prensa, sentados uno junto al otro en el Despacho Oval, cuando estalló la tensión en un momento en el que intervino el vicepresidente J.D. Vance, que estaba en un sillón a la izquierda del mandatario estadounidense.
“Es una falta de respeto que vengas al Despacho Oval a intentar debatir esto ante los medios estadounidenses”, dijo Vance a Zelenski.
Vance continuó cuestionando al líder ucraniano sobre los problemas de Ucrania para reclutar suficientes soldados y le reprochó que cada vez que recibe a un líder extranjero en su país lo haga en un “tour propagandístico”.
