La presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum expresó su inconformidad ante la decisión del gobierno de Estados Unidos de imponer cuotas compensatorias al tomate mexicano sin haber notificado oficialmente al Estado mexicano y amagó con una posible respuesta con sansiones al pollo o la carne de cerdo.“México siempre tiene esa posibilidad de aplicar estas sanciones en el caso del pollo o… la carne de cerdo”, dijo la presidenta desde Palacio Nacional.
Según denunció Sheinbaum, la notificación fue dirigida únicamente a abogados de los productores agrícolas, sin pasar por los canales diplomáticos ni institucionales correspondientes.
