La diputada de Morena, Jael Argüelles Díaz, participó en las Jornadas de Reflexión de Paridad y Acciones Afirmativas por parte del Instituto Estatal Electoral de Chihuahua (IEE), a fin de analizar los avances y retos en la participación política de la población de la diversidad sexual y de género.
La Jornada de Reflexión también contó con la presencia de la Consejera Presidenta, Yanko Durán Prieto; el titular de oficina en Ciudad Juárez de la CEDH, Zulay Alaíd Abbud Esparza; el Consejero Electoral Luis Eduardo Gutiérrez Ruíz; la candidata a diputada D03, Grecia Gabriela Herrera Alvarado; el candidato a regidor, Sergio Alan Sariñana Ochoa; la Consejera Electoral del IEE Puebla, Susana Rivas Vera y Alma Lorena Alonso Valdivia, Consejera Electoral del IEE Sonora, quien compartió su experiencia en la implementación de acciones afirmativas en su estado y la importancia de sensibilizar a los partidos políticos.
Durante su intervención en la mesa panel, la legisladora afirmó que los candidatos LGBTTTIQ+ se enfrentan a diferentes obstáculos como lo son la discriminación y estigmatización; falta de apoyo institucional; desinformación y estereotipos; resistencia cultural y religiosa; sujeción a estereotipos de género; sin embargo, hay muchas personas de la comunidad que han logrado superar las dificultades y hacer una diferencia significativa, sirviendo como inspiración para nuevas generaciones de activistas y políticos.
Asimismo, Argüelles Díaz lamentó que los estereotipos sobre las personas de la población LGBTTTIQ+ afecten gravemente la autoestima, creando sentimientos de vergüenza, inseguridad o inadecuación; además, contribuyen a los problemas de salud mental, como ansiedad, depresión y estrés, especialmente si las personas sienten que no pueden ser auténticas en su identidad.
“Los estereotipos que siguen permeando la participación política de las personas LGBTTTIQ+ son diversos y, aunque han disminuido en algunas regiones, continúan siendo un obstáculo para una representación plena e inclusiva”, manifestó.
Es por ello que insistió en que se requieren acciones y esfuerzos gubernamentales en política pública para que las personas dicha población pueda ejercer sus derechos político-electorales de manera eficiente, efectiva y eficaz.
“Implementar leyes que aseguren que no haya discriminación por orientación sexual o identidad de género en los procesos electorales. Esto incluye garantizar que las personas LGBTTTIQ+ no enfrenten violencia simbólica o física durante sus campañas electorales o al ejercer su derecho al voto”, planteó.
Para finalizar, la congresista recalcó que las acciones afirmativas no solo se tratan de dar acceso a oportunidades, sino también de reconocer que la diversidad sexual y de género es una parte natural de la sociedad. “La legislación en este sentido ayuda a normalizar la visibilidad de la comunidad LGBT y a combatir la homofobia y la transfobia a nivel social”, puntualizó.
