El área legal del Departamento de Estado de EE.UU. recibió la mañana de este viernes la orden de analizar todas las implicaciones jurídicas disponibles para que el Gobierno de Donald Trump pueda justificar una eventual intervención militar en México contra los cárteles de la droga.
El análisis tendría como objetivo evaluar los marcos legales nacionales e internacionales que podrían ser utilizados para sustentar una acción de carácter militar fuera del territorio estadounidense, en el contexto del combate al crimen organizado transnacional.
Hasta el momento, no se ha informado sobre una decisión formal ni sobre acciones concretas derivadas de esta revisión jurídica.
La instrucción se da en un contexto de tensión en Sudamérica tras el ataque de EE.UU. contra Venezuela, que concluyó con la detención del presidente Nicolás Maduro.
