El Gobierno Municipal de Chihuahua, a través del Instituto Municipal de Cultura Física y Deporte (IMCFD) en colaboración con el Comité Municipal de Softbol, presentaron la doceava edición del Campeonato Estatal de Pitcheo Lento “Sigamos juntos en el softbol”.
El torneo se llevará a cabo este fin de semana del 26 al 28 de septiembre con la participación por primera vez de 30 equipos en total de siete municipios del estado, entre ellos Juárez, Nuevo Casas Grandes, Camargo, Parral, y de los cuales, 18 equipos son representativos de Chihuahua Capital.
El director del IMCFD, Juan Abdo, resaltó que este torneo de softbol tendrá la participación de jugadores que integraron equipos en la liga de beisbol estatal, lo cual resulta atractivo para espectadores y familias que acuden a este encuentro deportivo.
Abundó que el compromiso al deporte que ha encabezado el alcalde Marco Bonilla en esta administración municipal permite ver el crecimiento de este torneo, como muchos otros, gracias principalmente al interés de promotores, jugadores, familias y amigos.
El presidente del Comité Municipal de Softbol, Carlos Durán, destacó el respaldo que le dan los patrocinadores de empresas chihuahuenses a este torneo que inició como un “mundial de barrios” con seis equipos locales y ahora, el número de equipos participantes y sus patrocinadores hacen posible el crecimiento un arraigo entre la comunidad.
El rol de juegos se disputará en siete campos de la ciudad, Luis Fuentes Molinar, Emiliano Zapata, Héctor Gutiérrez, Tuto Olmos, Ing. José “Pepe” Acuña”, Prof. Reyes Torres y Centauros. Se podrán consultar los horarios en la página de Facebook del Comité Municipal de Softbol: https://www.facebook.com/softbol.chihuahua.
En la presentación del torneo se contó con la presencia de Willy Martínez, jugador del equipo tricampeón “Servicios y Refacciones de Chihuahua”; Gustavo Flores, manejador del actual del equipo subcampeón “Circus Uniformes”; Jesús Serrano, manejador del primer equipo campeón Panadería Gerial – Cerro Prieto 2013; así como el regidor Adán Galicia, presidente de la Comisión del Deporte en el H. Ayuntamiento de Chihuahua.
