En la Plaza del Ángel de la ciudad de Chihuahua, se llevó a cabo la ceremonia de conmemoración por el Día Nacional de Protección Civil, que reunió a contingentes de instituciones en materia de seguridad, atención a emergencias y prevención de desastres.
Se contó con la participación de elementos de la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional, Guardia Nacional, Cruz Roja Mexicana, Unidad de Rescate del Gobierno del Estado, Comisión Nacional Forestal, Secretaría de Desarrollo Rural, Cuerpo de Bomberos y Protección Civil del Municipio de Chihuahua.
Además de integrantes de la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública Estatal y de la Dirección de Seguridad Pública Municipal de Chihuahua, quienes realizaron exhibiciones operativas y demostraciones de equipo especializado.
Durante el acto se rindió homenaje a las víctimas de los sismos ocurridos el 19 de septiembre de 1985 y de 2017 en la Ciudad de México.
Se guardó un minuto de silencio en memoria de quienes perdieron la vida y se reconoció el valor de los cuerpos de emergencia, que han respondido con heroísmo en momentos críticos de la historia nacional.
También estuvieron presentes los comandantes de Bomberos de Meoqui, Delicias, Cuauhtémoc y Chihuahua, quienes refrendaron su compromiso con la atención inmediata a emergencias, la capacitación constante de sus elementos y la colaboración interinstitucional en beneficio de la población.
El titular de la Coordinación Estatal de Protección Civil (CEPC), Luis Corral Torresdey, destacó que la entidad cuenta con personal altamente capacitado para la atención de contingencias.
Enfatizó que se cuenta también con vehículos todo terreno, sistemas de comunicación satelital y herramientas especializadas que fortalecen la capacidad operativa en zonas de difícil acceso.
