En un hecho inédito para el estado de Chihuahua, el municipio de Ojinaga se encuentra en proceso de conformar el primer Instituto Municipal del Hombre, un espacio que busca atender el bienestar emocional, la contención psicológica y el acompañamiento de varones que enfrentan situaciones de violencia, ya sea como víctimas o agresores. La alcaldesa Lucy Marrufo Acosta fue quien dio a conocer esta iniciativa, destacando que será el segundo instituto de su tipo en todo el país.
Durante una entrevista con medios locales, la presidenta municipal detalló que este nuevo organismo operará inicialmente dentro del Sistema DIF Municipal, aprovechando las instalaciones y recursos humanos ya disponibles, debido a las limitaciones presupuestales de la actual administración. “Estamos duplicando esfuerzos con el mismo recurso que tenemos, pero con un compromiso firme por atender a todos los sectores de nuestra sociedad”, aseguró.
La edil señaló que actualmente ya se atiende a un grupo de aproximadamente 15 hombres por medio del DIF Municipal, lo cual motivó la decisión de formalizar un espacio exclusivo para brindar atención integral desde una perspectiva masculina. “Necesitamos un ente especializado para ellos, con talleres y acompañamiento psicológico, porque los hombres también requieren contención emocional”, puntualizó.
Entre los objetivos del instituto destaca la prevención de la violencia intrafamiliar desde una visión más amplia, incluyendo la atención a los hombres en procesos de crisis. Esto cobra especial relevancia en un contexto donde se han registrado casos de suicidios masculinos en el municipio, los cuales han encendido alertas entre las autoridades.
El nuevo instituto también se alineará con otras estrategias municipales como “Escuadrón Rosa” y “Mujer Segura, Familia Segura”, pero con un enfoque complementario para trabajar de manera integral con todos los miembros de la familia: mujeres, niños, adolescentes y hombres. La meta es construir un tejido social más sano y prevenir conductas que escalen en violencia o aislamiento emocional.
A pesar de las limitaciones económicas —la administración heredó una deuda de más de 26 millones de pesos—, la alcaldesa afirmó que el compromiso del gobierno municipal es firme y que se buscará fortalecer el proyecto en futuras partidas presupuestales. En tanto, el Instituto del Hombre comenzará a operar de forma inicial en las instalaciones del DIF y con el personal existente.
“Queremos que todos nuestros ciudadanos, incluidos los hombres, sientan que tienen un espacio, que no están solos y que pueden pedir apoyo o auxilio cuando lo necesiten. La prevención también pasa por ellos”, concluyó Marrufo Acosta.
