La presidenta de México, Claudia Sheinbaum, destacó que en octubre se alcanzó una cifra histórica de empleos formales registrados ante el Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS), con 22 millones 789 mil 173 trabajadores afiliados, el nivel más alto en cualquier mes desde que existen registros.
Sheinbaum detalló que entre octubre de 2024 y octubre de 2025 se crearon 170 mil 231 empleos, y que tan sólo en octubre se generaron 217 mil 491 nuevas plazas laborales, lo que confirma, aseguró, el dinamismo de la economía nacional pese a un contexto internacional adverso.
“Ha sido un año complejo por los aranceles y por la situación económica global, pero aún así el peso se mantiene fuerte, en 18.29 por dólar, y hay creación de empleos. Eso quiere decir que vamos bien”, señaló la presidenta.
Al ser cuestionada sobre las razones de ese desempeño, Sheinbaum subrayó que el actual modelo económico “cambió la ecuación del periodo neoliberal” y se guía por el principio de “por el bien de todos, primero los pobres”.
Resaltó que los programas de bienestar, el aumento al salario mínimo y la confianza de los inversionistas nacionales y extranjeros han permitido mantener un crecimiento sostenido. “En el primer semestre del año se registró la mayor inversión extranjera directa de todos los años, y sigue habiendo mucha inversión y confianza en nuestro país”, sostuvo.
