El presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump, dijo que mantiene una “excelente relación” con el líder norcoreano Kim Jong-un y dejó en el aire una posible reunión bilateral.
“Conmigo, sí que empezó mal (la relación con Corea del Norte), ¿recuerdas? Luego se acabó. La retórica fue extremadamente dura. Pidieron una reunión. Y nos reunimos. Nadie compraba entradas para los Juegos Olímpicos porque no querían ser bombardeados con armas nucleares”, rememoró Trump ante preguntas de la prensa en el Despacho Oval.
Las declaraciones llegaron durante una reunión en la Casa Blanca con el secretario general de la OTAN, Mark Rutte, en la que abrió la posibilidad de un futuro encuentro con Kim Jong-un: “Ya veremos qué pasa”, deslizó.
Además, se refirió a Corea del Norte una vez más como una “potencia nuclear”, algo que ya hizo el pasado 20 de enero al tomar posesión para su segundo mandato.
