La presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum dio a conocer que desde el pasado 20 de enero han regresado a México 108 mil 803 connacionales según las cifras del Instituto Nacional de Migración, destacando que es una cifra que dista del reporte de 1.6 millones de migrantes que según fuentes estadunidenses habrían sido deportados a sus países.
Durante su conferencia comentó que cuando regresan mexicanos a su país, a través del INM se les otorga una carta de repatriación.
Mostró una gráfica de la evolución de las deportaciones de mexicanos en las diversas administraciones en la Casa Blanca, destacando que fue bajo la presidencia de William Clinton cuando se deportaron un millón cien mil mexicanos, en un año, frente a los 108 mil migrantes en este año, desde la llegada de Donald Trump.
