En el marco del Día de la Industria Maquiladora y Manufacturera de Exportación, el Presidente Municipal, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, reiteró el compromiso de este Gobierno para seguir trabajando en coordinación con el sector industrial por el desarrollo de esta frontera.
En el evento donde se reconoce a las empresas maquiladoras y trabajadores a través de la Presea Jaime Bermúdez Cuarón, el Alcalde indicó que la competitividad de Juárez depende de la infraestructura, seguridad, confianza, diálogo y colaboración entre sectores, por lo que esta administración municipal continuará impulsando políticas públicas que fortalezcan la atracción de inversiones, así como la mejora de servicios, movilidad y calidad de vida de quienes hacen posible que esta ciudad crezca.
Dijo que hablar de la industria maquiladora es hablar de progreso, de un esfuerzo compartido que ha transformado la frontera en un polo de desarrollo económico a nivel internacional, así como de los trabajadores que todos los días cruzan la ciudad para realizar sus jornadas.
“Hoy se rinde homenaje a una industria que ha marcado la identidad de Ciudad Juárez y que constituye el corazón de nuestra economía. Nuestra ciudad alberga actualmente 330 plantas activas que generan más de 300 mil empleos directos y participan en estilos industriales distintos como sectores de alto valor agregado como el automotriz, médico, electrónico, área espacial y área de manufactura avanzada”, comentó.
Indicó que esta diversidad alberga la capacidad de Juárez para adaptarse a los nuevos tiempos, innovar y seguir siendo una de las fronteras más dinámicas y productivas de América del Norte.
El Presidente Pérez Cuéllar reconoció a los trabajadores, a las empresas que han confiado en esta localidad y que han hecho de ella un espacio de oportunidades, así como al Consejo Nacional de la Industria Maquiladora y Manufacturera de Exportación Index, que celebra 51 años de labor ininterrumpida, siendo un aliado estratégico del desarrollo regional, al agrupar a más de 300 plantas industriales que generan más del 60 por ciento del empleo industrial en la ciudad.
Por otra parte, recordó al visionario Jaime Bermúdez Cuarón, de quien dijo, entendió hace décadas que el desarrollo de Juárez pasaba por abrirle las puertas al mundo, por traer inversión y apostar al talento local.
“Gracias a su visión, nuestra ciudad se convirtió en referente industrial y ejemplo de cómo el trabajo conjunto entre el Gobierno, empresas y comunidad puede transformar”, indicó.
María Teresa Delgado, vicepresidenta de Index Juárez, destacó que México ha atraído inversión y contribuye significativamente en las exportaciones del país, pues el estado de Chihuahua exporta el 60 por ciento del total de todo México.

Durante el evento se reconoció la trayectoria se décadas de algunas empresas como Bussman S. de R. L y Maquilados Técnicos S. A de C. V, así como a empleados con 30 a 35 años de antigüedad.
Así mismo, se entregó la Presea por Involucramiento Social a Bussman S. A de C. V, Ensamble de interiores automotrices México, Harman de México, Hubbel, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Optron de México y Productos Marine S. A. de C. V.
También se reconoció a las empresas incluyentes y a las de trayectoria de éxito.
En el presidium estuvieron José Diodoro Siller, secretario del Trabajo y Previsión Social del Gobierno del Estado; Mauricio Ibarra Ponce de León, Cónsul General de México en El Paso, Texas; el senador Juan Carlos Loera y Ulises Fernández Gamboa, secretario de Desarrollo Económico del Estado.
