En la sesión permanente del Congreso, la diputada Leticia Ortega Maynez lanzó un enérgico llamado en defensa de la soberanía de México, rechazando las recientes amenazas del presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump, de imponer aranceles del 25% a productos mexicanos.
Ortega calificó estas acciones como una agresión económica y un intento de sometimiento hacia el pueblo de México.
“La intención de imponer aranceles busca presionarnos en temas de exclusiva competencia de México y pretende responsabilizarnos por las crisis internas de Estados Unidos”, señaló la diputada.
Durante su intervención, Leticia Ortega recordó que en 2023 murieron aproximadamente 113,000 personas por sobredosis en Estados Unidos, lo que evidencia una grave crisis de salud pública.
Asimismo, destacó que Estados Unidos es el mayor exportador de armas a nivel mundial, muchas de las cuales terminan en manos del crimen organizado en México.
Ortega aplaudió la postura firme de la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum, quien en una reciente reunión con autoridades estadounidenses logró frenar por un mes la imposición de aranceles, dando paso a una negociación que beneficiará a ambas naciones.
“Defender la soberanía de México no es cuestión de preferencias políticas; es un asunto de dignidad nacional. Es tiempo de cerrar filas y rechazar cualquier intento de sometimiento”, afirmó la diputada.
Finalmente, Ortega reafirmó su respaldo a la presidenta Sheinbaum, asegurando que “este es un nuevo México, que no se doblega ante amenazas extranjeras ni acepta discursos entreguistas.
